I’ve been coming out to the campground in the afternoons to work, ride my bike, fly kites, and play fetch with Phoebe. As you can see, Phoebe approves.

I was fortunate enough to get in on the lottery at my local seasonal campground. We’ve parked our camper there. It’s about 25 minutes away, and will become my home away from home.

I can hardly wait for April 1st to get back into RV life a bit, even if it’s just part-time.

At the beach this week. Got a new kite, and wow it’s smooth! This Mylar makes a big difference!

It's done! Mounted on the wall and built! so happy this is done!

Printed the caps overnight. Just need the top part and the wall mounted piece and this project will be ready to install!

It’s starting to look like a computer! I designed it kind of like how a Playstation 2 can sit vertical or horizontal. I’ll mostly be using it wall-mounted in the vertical position.

Big step in the right direction here - all of the electronic components have been mounted to the frame. I had to order one extension cable to power the motherboard, but other than that, it went well!

Can’t wait to power this thing up!

Welp I printed the part and several parts didn’t quite line up, and I didn’t use enough infill so it broke. Tweaking the holes and printing again, but this time I’m printing a thin test piece to check alignment.

I ordered a my first parafoil kite. A Tantrum 220. I'm interested in kitesurfing, and also looking for options for an upper body workout on windy days.

Can't wait to get this thing in the air. Hopefully the kite is the only thing that goes up 😁

It’s here 😬

My little Macbook Air is great on its own, but sometimes I want the extra real-estate. Not too different than my original RV setup, actually.

Eventually I'll replace this board with something better, but for now, any planar surface will do 😅

I even created my own daily journal template. I based it on my time-budgeting approach, and left plenty of room for bullet journaling so I can get stuff out of my head and keep myself from getting distracted during the oh-so-important deep work timeblock.

I bought a Boox e-ink tablet for bullet journaling, and reading. really loving it so-far. My mind buzzes with RSS feed to ChatGPT to Instapaper Zaps that allow me to create my own curated, and reported newspaper with original links. Another weekend project, it seems.

I’m not confident I can top this setup. It’s basically a wood board on my recliner with a controller, keyboard, portable monitor, all hooked up to my handheld. Basically a Nintendo Switch, but way better.

It is ready to print! The final overall dimensions is about 13″ tall x 5.5″ wide x 11″ deep. If I would have splurged on a mini ATX motherboard I could have made it a lot smaller – probably 8″tall x 5.5″ wide x 8″ deep. But I wanted WiFi 6 and more for less money 😂.

I started over in FFXIV last night. I needed a game that didn't feel like another project. Something that took me on a journey.

And I couldn't resist creating an emo Lalafell named Adam Smoltier. 😂

The plan is to tuck the mount it behind the TV on the wall. Brackets will hold it on the wall but make it fairly easy to remove if I ever need too.

Although it’s going to be running Ubuntu, so I can connect to it with another computer pretty easily.

I can't get enough of how GOOD this green looks on this dark blue.

Usually, the boards are made using 2x4 planks, more like this, but they're really bulky and heavy to lug around. So I thought it would be cool to make a nested set that are compact and easier to carry.

Looking through some of my old archives, and stumbled on this fun cornhole board project I did a decade ago. I never did build this thing. Maybe this is the year?

The newly adjusted pieces worked SO well. They printed easily thanks to the flats, still work just as well, and printed much nicer. This thing makes winding up my kite tail A LOT easier. Really happy with this design.

The tail crank design works great, although I had some issues with the print quality. So, I tweaked the design to make it easier to print on its side, which will not only make the cranks stronger, but also a lot easier to print. This should fix the quality issues I had.
