Freeman goes on to assert that "apologies never satisfy witchfinder generals like Rajesh, Singh and Suleyman", they apparently wanted more. Her evidence for this is... one of them later tweeted negatively about Clanchy being interviewed by the Times. That's it.

God, the whole article is so deeply dishonest. Clanchy's book was "suddenly derided" - no mention that the "sudden" trigger was Clanchy loudly demanding an obscure Goodreads review be taken down b/c of racist quotes she claimed were made up, prompting everyone to check and find out they were genuine

If I was seeking to justify transphobia with a prominent and profound-sounding quote, I personally would choose someone other than a man who's made it his life's work to "scientifically prove" that all the people who've said they were abused as children by priests are just Catholic-hating liars.
