Just a nerdy avgeek ✈
Felt like posting. Here’s a decommissioned Avro RJ100 at Cranfield Airport. The airport is home to an MRO facility specializing in this aircraft type. There are a few of these old birds stored there, likely as parts

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow
As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy

The NTSB will brief media today at 2 p.m. ET on the Jan. 29 midair collision at DCA airport. Expect a status update on the investigation preliminary report, which is usually issued around 30 days after an event:

Tui Fly Belgium OO-JDL taking off from RNW 07R at Brussels Airport in 2019. Tui will soon terminate its long haul services out of BRU.

The aircraft itself has been flying out of Amsterdam since May 2024, with occasional visits to BRU. It is currently in heavy maintenance in TPE.

Everyone should read this. Safety related investigations in both aviation and other industries are always there to understand what happened, why and how we can improve. We can not let politics and biases get in the way.

Sully (the pilot that landed successfully in the Hudson many years ago) is quoted today as saying

“We have the obligation to learn from every failure and improve.”

That right there is why aviation is safe and roads are not.

Anyone else miss seeing the Eurowings Dash 8 Q400s? Pictured here is D-ABQM landing at Brussels Airport in July 2019.

P4-RLA, an A319ACJ, pictured at Vienna Airport in March. This aircraft seems to spend much of its time on the ground, only flying a couple times a month.

I've found one article saying the aircraft is (was?) owned by a Ukrainian billionaire: antikor.com.ua/en/articles/...
