I adore articles like this. They help build an affinity with the writer. I note none of them wrote "to become head of the Labour Party" Julian...- how is that going btw!?

Well Gremlin stiffed him on Suicide royalties so Rod Cousens at Quicksilva offered him a deal. A quick change and behold Black Thunder...

Thanks for that. I remember he once appeared in The Sunday Times Business section talking about CDROM "why compact discs are all in the game" this was 84 IIRC so exciting to read about. He also pioneered a video system for opticians IIRC as well.

I used to work with the guy behind this campaign. The main character there was one of the Mktg team IIRC. I do remember their Plymouth store had a new carpet which really gave off a chemicals smell . They also did "aint nothing like a game" ad - a reference which was no doubt lost on the audience...

I remember the impact this article had on me. I had becomr a huge admirer of Final Fight in the arcade. Huge colourful sprites, detailed artwork and amazing 2P fighting fun. Seeing a home version was on the way and looking nigh-on "arcade perfect" (how I miss that phrase!) was SO exciting!

Buggy Boy. A wonderful coin op and a great C64 game. IIRC the Atari ST version was very close graphically. The 64 version was fast. I played this for a LONG time.
