For those of us of a certain age games like Irem's 1987 coin-op R-Type were just really influential. 38yrs later and I am still drawn to this game. Seeing it running on the PC Engine was really mind blowing. At the time we all dreamed of having games like OutRun or Space Harrier at home.

This mag cover from 1989 was really exciting to me. "Play The Film" was this distant idea I used to daydream about whilst doing my A-Levels. Yesterday I fired up the Xbox Indiana Jones game. The opening level made me think back to this old ACE magazine cover.
