NC has the most unaccountable private school voucher program in the US. The GOP-led legislature rushed into appropriating half a BILLION dollars to a program that has no evidence that it increases educational outcomes, at the same time stating they had to “wait and see” to help Helene victims.

Today, the Republican leaders of North Carolina's state legislature are voting to spend nearly $500 million *additional* taxpayer dollars on private school vouchers. Those vouchers are earmarked for applicant tiers 2, 3 and 4 - the wealthiest.

Tomorrow, the NC House is scheduled to vote on HB10, a bill which would appropriate over half a BILLION dollars to unaccountable private schools- in the wake of Hurricane Helene which caused catastrophic damage to Western NC. It’s unconscionable.
Call your legislator & tell them to vote NO.
