Oh wow, didn’t realize that despite the amount of players and all the fragmentation there’s still a 40% of the market available.
Today @alanwolk.com presented the share of smart TV OS market share at #IWantMyCTV. Helps contextualize what TTD is going after with their new OS, Ventura.

If most people had critical thinking, advertising wouldn’t work.

An interesting poll from Paul Gubbins on Linkedin. At first I imagined that OTT should stay, given it's used also outside of CTV.

I was rightfully pointed out to the fact that OTT = Streaming, which indeed makes "OTT" as a term quite obsolete.

What do you think?

The biggest reason people continue using Chrome is all these tabs they will never read, but can’t close because of FOMO.

Perplexity + Ads + Stripe = superb shippable search experience.

It’s a next-gen performance marketing engine, combining search & affiliate marketing (capture intent + push to purchase)

Importantly TradeDesk is not looking to make any money with the OS itself, but will rather benefit from a more transparent ecosystem.

I’m wondering, whether TTD is not going to have any benefits, as in first look or guaranteed inventory?
Here comes The Trade Desk's TV operating system, Axios reports. But the key will be which TV manufacturers and distributors it partners with. And will exclusivity matter?

The Trade Desk is building a smart TV operating system called Ventura
"We're looking at a concentration around a handful of players that lack objectivity," CEO Jeff Green said.

I know why Bluesky is skyrocketing, and is becoming increasingly popular specifically amongst adtech folks.

It's because it comes with built-in Curation!

With TradeDesk CTV OS the market is getting pretty saturated. Apart from OEMs there's also Titan OS trying to get their place under the sun. Will there be enough space for all the OSs?

It's not unlikely Apple will decide sooner or later to enter the CTV market too (gizmodo.com/apple-is-rep...)

If Google is ultimately forced to sell Chrome, who will be the buyer and how will it be operated? Will the black box open up to some extent? #adtech #doj #google

Maybe Bluesky will be the better place
Bluesky feels like I took a Time Machine back to 2009 when I was still like “Hey this social media thing is going to make the world a better place.”

Feels exactly like that

Professional deformation is real. You just can’t help watching the Home Screen video ads on Amazon FireStick to understand all the nitty-gritty before jumping to watch a movie on Netflix.
