One of the firefighters arrested is an Oregonian. My office has been in touch with his lawyer who says he can't locate his client. My office is working to get more information on his whereabouts ASAP.
Arresting firefighters putting their lives on the line to protect our communities doesn't make us safer. This evil stunt is putting families in harm's way just so Donald Trump can score a Fox News hit.

Schatz: People are seeing what chaos really looks like. We are on the brink of some very dangerous developments in the Middle East, and we have chaos inside the US—not chaos the federal government can’t control, but chaos the federal government is, in some instances, precipitating or making worse.

Remember, Trump’s FY26 budget slashes NIH funding by $17.5B—a 37% cut—including $1B from cancer research. Over 300 NIH grants canceled, 1,200 jobs cut, and 7,000+ clinical trials disrupted.

But, yeh, make America great again blah blah blah

I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.

It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.

Drives me crazy. If you don’t want to fight say so. Stop trying to discourage others from doing the work you’re too jaded to do.

You try 50 times and win the 51st. That’s how it works. Progress happens when you find ways to make it matter. And sometimes it’s just your persistence.

One issue with "Trump's playing 5D chess with nominees" is that he and his team are flatfooted on issues that arise with them.

It's almost like—bear with me—some dim narcissist who refuses expertise is choosing people he saw talk good about him on the teevee, without much thought beyond that.

Don’t remember hearing them say Biden’s 4-5% popular vote win was a mandate… but Trump’s 1-2% win? MANDATE!
This is an important point to keep in mind. And to make when others claim "landslide" or "mandate"
