Mariska Hargitay's film about her mother is so beautiful.

We can never mail postcards from vacation because my 11yo forgets how to write them EVERY TIME and writes over the address area. Every time, I think, "She knows the drill now." Every time, I'm wrong. Snail mail fails, every time.

Those stupid nicknames he gives people are probably mnemonic devices so he can remember their names. Dementia management

Based solely on how many congratulations texts I got the week my ex got remarried, I know Mackenzie Scott's phone had to be on FIRE over the weekend. Congratulations, lady. He's officially someone else's problem.

Every time I listen to @guster.bsky.social's Ooh La La album, I have this almost irresistible urge to get in my car and drive down the highway with the music blaring and the windows rolled down. Keep Going gives me get-the-hell-out-of-town energy. Sunglasses on. Windows down. Music UP.

I know this is not news, but there are two times a year the mental load spikes to an insane level for those of us default parents: the entire holiday season (including summer camp planning, which is usually late December/early January) & May, when end-of-year events & recitals join the party.

Just realized my kid will never know the ping sound of a car door open when the keys are in the ignition because I sold my last truly "keyed" car when she was a baby. Most cars seem to have a push button start at this point. What is the word for being nostalgic about really random, strange things?

Something stupid I'm mad about is that my grandmother hasn't come to visit me in my dreams. It's been over a year. I just want a slice of lemon meringue and a cup of tea together. And to make her laugh again.

To all the people watching from outside the US, look at the election in NC currently being stolen from Alison Riggs for an example of how "you voted for this" is unhelpful. We definitely haven't hit rock bottom yet.

When the dentist texts you an appointment reminder for your ex, five years after your divorce was finalized. 🧐 Sir, I am not your secretary. This is not a service I provide.

Everyone cries when their beautiful daughter practices her lyrical dance in the living room, right? Especially since she's dancing to "My Tears Ricochet." I blubber. Need to remember to bring tissues to the recital. Lordt.

Hakeem Jeffries sounds so defensive on NPR. Your constituents want to see results, my man. That's the point.

*SPOILER* What stuns me the most about the storytelling of Mark's journey in S2 of Severance: at first he's DESPERATE to help his outie save his (their?) wife. In the end, iMark does the "right" thing, which tracks. But he has his own life now. Orpheus saves Eurydice, but chooses Persephone?

Some of y'all don't know what Pittsburgh looked like in the 1940s, before the EPA, before pollution regulation, and it shows. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Do we think DJ even has a driver's license? Maybe that's why he's such a fan of crappy self-driving cars. Does he even know how to drive anything other than a golf cart?

My vet posts a photo of a chalkboard with the day's patients on it and I am DYING to see the pets that match the names. Today's standouts: Ms Elinor Bacon, Rogelio, Eric, Potato. WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE.
