Trans, bisexual, tired. Always thinking about sci-fi and fantasy.
A very serviceable squire.

No matter your preferences with regards to facial hair, at the Art Institute of Chicago, there's a John the Baptist for you!

One of my favorite things about the Art Institute of Chicago is the strong showing of depictions of John the Baptist, and the varying degrees of sexiness thereof.

Like, step aside, John the Beloved, we need to look at your man's hot cousin for a second..

It's Rape Culture: For Christian Teenz! The Fun and Hip guide to never failing to ask the question "what was she wearing"?

Oh god I've accidentally ended up being an officially designated trans grown up, talking to kids about my new name, twice in one week.

I'm happy to! Love being a queer role model, representation matters, etc. But I'm also the least cool trans person alive, possibly, so this is the vibe:

Oh no! I can't help but feel responsible somehow...

(for my pals who don't have the pleasure, Wombles look like a combination of Big Bird and Gritty)

The same husband did watch me do many sets of pushups in the months leading up to this, and yes, he has quoted this scene at me.

If it pleases the court, may I present: Angela Lansbury playing Princess Gwendolyn in Court Jester (1955)

One of my personal favs:

"15. Stateroom arrangement removes sex as a factor in assigning crew members to quarters without violating Federation Standards for Morality and Decorum."

I have something similar! Inherited from a grandparent who was also very into Trek. One of my favorite finds? The bowling alley.

My folk history thought of the day is that Cú Chulainn and Ferdia were in love. It's a queer romantic tragedy, and no one will be able to talk me out of that opinion.

Leelah's family were members of the same church I was born into. A relatively small Church of Christ in Ohio.
I still have a tiny painted handprint that I made during their summer vacation Bible school.

Tomorrow is the tenth anniversary of the death of Leelah Alcorn. She was a trans girl who was 17 years old when she died.
I want you all to remember her with me.

Happy Cats Taking Over Nativity Sets season to all who celebrate. Wishing you the coziness and self-assurance of a cat who is POSITIVE that the manager is there for their sole benefit.

It makes complete sense to me!

Hey, I also recently felt compelled to look at paintings of Mary Magdalene. She probably looks like a different cat in this, but still!

This is a painting from 1651 of St Jerome, but it is also a painting of me after I've seen someone being an ass online.

I'm sure you'd get in some cutting remarks, though, if you fought them.

We're watching "Night of the Lepus" (1972) for movie night and my two takeaways are:
1. More fake blood=Less scary
2. DeForest Kelley could get it.

They are so kissable! Lance was blessed and highly favored to be chosen by Marietta for kangaroo pouch cuddles.

Savannah and Marietta. We have been calling them "the twins". Marietta is shy and snuggly, Savannah is brave and independent. They'd make a great team in the same home, but would also be just fine as solo acts.

She's just the sweetest little cat, barely more than a kitten herself.
We have homes lined up for her and two of the kittens once they are fully vetted, which is in a little over a week, but if any of your followers happens to be in Indiana and looking to adopt..
