I do have holds! Usually my popular books are returned swiftly so titles on hold are given out that same day. If a student still has a book that has had it for a while, I usually just check in with them to see their reading progress. Based on their response, I decide to ILL a copy or they return it!

I know for me, my loan periods are truly arbitrary. I just want my students to read, so they return when they are finished. I have a 5 book limit, so that also helps. My system is on a 3 week cycle, so my staff and I remind students when they check out. I also send out quarterly reminders on paper!

I teach a 6th grade reading class and we are reading it together! I have a whole novel unit on it since I live in the ADKs and have 3 46ers in my family (I'm slowly at 8/46). So glad you enjoyed it too!
