My most strongly held but apparently unpopular position: things can't decline 4 times or be four times lower, particularly if they cannot go negative.

BNS: Under Trump’s threatened 25% tariffs and assuming that Canada did not retaliate... Canada's economy would contract 3.8% q/q and lose 2.7% of GDP in the long-run. The BoC's policy rate would go down 275bps, the UR would rise 2.2 ppts... and the exchange rate would depreciate by about 20%.
