I tend to keep personal stuff off of this account, because I know it's not what you're here for, but, with that said, work seems to have dried up for the year. If anyone is looking for a Unity developer, game designer or QA, I would appreciate any help! Feel free to DM, links etc in comments.

I finally figured out how I'm going to do AI in this game, and implemented the framework for it. Now I never want to look at it again. Shame I've got a bunch of enemy behaviours to work out now >_>

LinkedIn really needs a 'this is awful and you should stop' reaction for posts.

I'm really going to have to get to Gamescom one year.

The embargo is up, so I can finally talk about Death Stranding 2. It's awesome. Kojima and his team improved on almost every aspect aspect of the original and delivered an absolutely stunning game.
DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH PS5 Review - Impulse Gamer
2019s Death Stranding was Kojima Productions first release after legendary founder Hideo Kojima was unceremoniously… released(?) from Konami in 2015.

Hey @bethesda.net , you seemed to really like my DOOM: TDA review. Any chance you could save me one of those Bark Ages tees until I get paid? :3

Well done to the Amazon driver who just tried to fold a cd and cracked the case a bunch 👍

Omg! My DOOM: The Dark Ages review is being spotlighted and quoted on the Steam store page!

I wrote some words about DOOM: The Dark Ages.
DOOM: The Dark Ages PS5 Review - Impulse Gamer
The modern reboots of DOOM that started in 2016 and followed up with DOOM Eternal in 2020 ended up being my favourite games of those years, and even going so

Blender has quickly gone from being 'hey, this is kind of fun', to 'hey, this is the most infuriating piece of software I've ever used'.

Been working on a lot of small things in the background. Beginnings of AI is now in place, albeit very janky. Still lots to do, but the core experience is now starting to feel a little bit more like a game.

Trying to improve the feeling of speed next. Anyone know of any tricks beyond changing the FoV and some kind of speed lines?

I'm having a good time getting used to Blender again. Even if I don't have a clue what I'm doing half of the time. Imported the test track and ship into the game and it's starting to come together.

Got a bunch of other stuff that's expected in a racing game implemented yesterday, best/current laptime, a lap completion system that I borrowed from Mario Kart to stop cheating and extreme short-cutting, speed booster pads, and damage. Gonna have to (re-)learn how to Blender again soon.

I think I've finally gotten collisions in a place that is approximate to where I want them to be. Needs some tweaking, but that can be done once other stuff is in and I can playtest it better.

It turns out that physics-based, vehicle collisions are actually kind of hard to get right. I hate math.
