My favorite thing about the front loading cargo bike is that it makes a great nap room. We’re riding out this 10 am nap for a little before we make our way down to the creek. #Denver #citypark

For 95% of the trips in cities, cars are dumb. Cities would be so much better without them.
Summer Streets are back, for another ridiculous display of how much better our streets could be.

#Denver Mayor Mike Johnston thinks cutting bike lanes saves money. In reality, he’s draining Denver’s future wealth, prosperity, and climate resilience. These 8 visuals show how car dependency wrecks cities: nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/06/23/c...

But sure, tell me again how “bikes are just for exercise.”

Things I moved with a bike this week,
- A cherry tree and two blueberry bushes
- 4 pallets
- A plate compactor

Politics is really about selling vision.

What if Denver’s Mayor, Mike Johnston had an initiative, “100 Better Connections,” would you support it?

IDK, I guess I’m feeling Inspired by the Denver Urbanism Podcast.

Hopefully this is a slippery slope to a total ban. 🤘🏼
The code change prohibits the construction of new gas stations:

- Within a quarter mile of an existing gas station
- Within a quarter mile of a rail transit station platform
- Within 300 feet of low-intensity residential zone districts, dedicated to single- and two-unit buildings
Denver bans gas stations near gas stations (and lots of other places)
The new law affects projects that were already proposed, drawing intense criticism from real-estate interests.

I don’t get why we build the world to rob people of money and joy.

Car dependency sucks!

Stop building these places!

It’s not worth it.

When walking and biking feels like a maze, joy is drained from life.

We need to stop paving the way to misery and start building cities for people.

Pro-bike, pro-human, pro-sanity!

It’s time to trend back to a simpler and more joyful way of being.
Have you seen this one before? A short history of traffic engineering via @copenhagenizers.bsky.social. Manufactured #CarDependency takes a lot of forms, including how easy or hard we make it to get from A to B using any other ways of getting around.

A direct result of the wrong priorities.

There are simple and free ways to fix the housing shortage. @cityofdenver.bsky.social
As Denver considers removing parking minimums, it’s important to note that removing parking minimums one of the most effective tools we have to increase housing supply and housing affordability.
IMPORTANT NEW STUDY: Fully flexible parking rules would result in MORE NEW HOMES than legalizing granny flats & larger multifamily buildings near transit combined, even if every new building still included some amount of parking.

Car-dependent societies SUCK!
“EVs enjoy a global image that is entirely unjustified. The pitch – buy an EV and save the planet – is just nonsense. Their presence will still disfigure cities, pushing politicians and developers to build new parking lots, roads and highways to gratify the endless swarms of drivers.”
