Mountains. Climate. Politics.
Interesting that this article discusses the challenges of planning travel in a world where our climate has become more extreme and less predictable, but fails to recognize that we must travel less to curb emissions causing climate change.

It is beyond my comprehension why Canada lets murderers out of jail, especially when there’s been no investment in rehabilitation. We are all at risk until the “justice” system values victims more than perpetrators. 13 years is not an adequate sentence for taking a life.

The truth hurts. Disappointed to see folks pile on shaming and misdirected anger in response to Suzuki’s statement just because he says what any thinking person already knows.
He also said, “I’m not giving up in the sense of not doing anything.” Suzuki has no fucks left to give, & I’m here for it.

It’s my first season with a solar installation and I’ve wondered how wildfire smoke events would impact production. Even though the air quality health index is 11 (very high risk), the smoke must not be blocking sunlight too much because I’m not seeing a negative impact on solar production. ☀️

Agree. It's a two-horse race. Voting Liberal is the only sensible choice for progressives.
Red is the new orange.

There is a shift. Door-knocking in Edmonton Centre, I meet many residents with NDP lawn signs, who now decided to vote for Liberal Eleanor Olszewski.

They’re strategic. Liberals are in the lead. Vote split would result in a Conservative win.

Well worth a read as well as some reflection on how each of us can more consciously make choices about how we live and the world we’re co-creating. I’m reconsidering some of my choices.
Every urban planner should read this. This is your job. Right here.

Every parent, every human who lives a housebound, phonebound life should read this.

Then go hang out with living, breathing people. Face to face.

The NDP would be wise to reflect on their values and recall how true leaders lead.

Okay PM Justin Trudeau, thank you for service. Today's words & actions were inordinately hard, but necessary. There is little dignity in public & political life, particularly at the end. Your legacy will be understood in the months & years to come. Focus now on your future & your family. Peace.
