Why isn't Heretic as good? It just doesn't have quite the same standard of level design, and the levels tend to be a bit long. I also don't think it needs as many weapons as it has. Some of them pretty much duplicate each other.

It is good though. I'm enjoying it.

I don't remember everything we had but I definitely remember:

Sonic 2
Sonic & Knuckles
Rocket Knight Adventures
NBA Jam
Street Fighter 2
Eternal Champions
James Pond 3
Spot Goes to Hollywood
Earthworm Jim

We rented loads of others but those are the ones I'm confident we owned

One of the formative experiences I had with Morrowind was the first time I talked to a silt strider driver and they explained that they get inside an artificial hole in the insect's back and steer it by manipulating its organs. So bizarre and uncomfortable.

Morrowind, with its buildings made of hollowed out giant mushrooms and the shells of enormous crabs, its towering insect bus service, and its mythology of a living deity arguing with a load of craters on the moon, is so much stranger and more compelling

Exactly the same on all points. It was my first Elder Scrolls, and my first game that was anything like this, but it's really the alienness and eccentricity of the setting that makes it stand out.

I love Oblivion but it's fantasy late Roman Europe. I love Skyrim but it's fantasy Norway.

My first gut reaction to that image was "that's meant to be Hyrule?"

My second was "they look like cosplayers"

Next finish: Heroes of the Monkey Tavern

A "blobber" (party dungeon crawl e.g. Grimrock) but unlike many in the genre it's pretty short at around 8 hours. A couple of annoying areas aside, it's pretty good. I find this genre hit and miss. This one is mostly hit.

Putting the alt text right there in the text. It's the way forward

I don't stream (at the moment) but my neighbours frequently drill. They've been renovating for about 5 years. So that'd be a fun one if I was a streamer

Delete everyone. Solved. For even handedness, delete even the people you can identify.

My favourite feeling in a game is when you can feel the people who created it wanting you to have fun

Isn't that the exact same scenario?

Seconds per frame 😂

Yeah, it's always had problems, but I don't know how it can always be a couple seconds off (but also inconsistent about exactly how much)
