I heard #Christmas music in stores on November 1. HARD PASS.

My mother always started decorating for Christmas the day after #Thanksgiving.

NOT decorating for holidays AT ALL is also a perfect choice.

But Christmas decor before Thanksgiving = side eye.

I just finished A Place to Call Home.

A great distraction, despite tackling harsh topics: the Holocaust, racism, homophobia, etc. The writers blend soap opera & social commentary in a way that is wildly entertaining. Features one of the best #TV villains ever.

This North Carolinian THANKS YOU.
My legal team will be in federal court in North Carolina today fighting against the state's unconstitutional redrawn congressional map. Before you listen to those in the GOP who say we can't win, ask Texas how that worked out for them.

My security camera picked up a visitor early AM yesterday. Seen lots of #deer on nearby greenway, so no surprise they wander through the neighborhood, too.

Video ALT: young deer walks across yard and sidewalk.

A defense of a much-hated #1980s song:

“Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” is usually my go-to song of Starship’s (and, genuinely, one of the best power ballads ever, IMO), but “We Built This City” floors me for being so terribly of its time.

This scared me like few other #movies or #TV shows have. It just creates a sense of creeping dread that you cannot shake.
The 🇺🇸 American two-part vampire miniseries "SALEM'S LOT" based on the 1975 horror novel by Stephen King, directed by Tobe Hooper, starring David Soul, James Mason, Lance Kerwin, Bonnie Bedelia, Lew Ayres, Reggie Nalder & Geoffrey Lewis premiered #OnThisDay in 1979 on the CBS Network

Cocoa futures eased toward $5,600/tn, a level not seen since February 2024.

@npr.org , the positioning in this post AND in the headline soft-pedals an important detail in the story: "The administration has not publicly released further evidence that the boats were actually carrying drugs and who was on board."

THAT detail should be the focus in this report.

Black Phone 2: surprisingly solid sequel.

Movie nails the early #1980s vibe. I tip my hat to whomever decided to show the old Universal logo at the start.

News outlets that cover the election mainly through the prism of which party / politician gained politically are missing the message from voters — and a market opportunity to be relevant to people's real-life struggles, worries and hopes.

@npr.org , do better: this framing focuses on political parties and not the people who voted. How do the election results affect THE VOTERS?
