The instruction manual for Makai Toushi SaGa (Final Fantasy Legend) constantly references Phantasy Star by featuring numerous screenshots where the party members are named after the 4 heroes of Sega's RPG. Apparently someone at Square was a fan.

I was having a look at the manual for Makai Toushi SaGa, the original Japanese version, and I loved how it references Phantasy Star by featuring numerous screenshots with the party members named after the 4 heroes from that game. Someone was a fan.

Only to find out, in true metafiction, that you were just playing a game created by a gnostic god to amuse himself, a pathetic final boss who forgot to make himself invulnerable to an instakill bug that affects all the other enemies. For a Game Boy RPG released in 1989, this is simply too much.(2/2)

I played the demo for qualia, an upcoming interactive text game by @allsees.online / @cmy2k.games, and I think it's quite interesting in how it can eerily suggest that your reasoning as the so-called Evaluator may be as artificial as some of the participants' answers.
