I love the quartzite cliff face at Pipestone National Monument in Minnesota. The banded pink and red Sioux Quartzite overlays a thin layer of dark red pipestone, deep underground. Members of 23 Native nations dig with hand tools through the hard rock to gather the sacred pipestone.

My Bluesky experience after two weeks:
I have 8,000 followers here compared to 64,000 on Twitter, yet engagement — reposts, likes, clicks — is similar and at times higher.
Some of that is surely enthusiasm for newness, but it also suggests much of Twitter's ecosystem is bots or abandoned accounts.

Fun Fact: Eighteen years before making his MLB, the 10-year-old Chicagoan was wearing a Minnesota Twins uniform on the field at Met Stadium as a participant in the 1977 Pitch, Hit & Run Competition.
Coomer (fourth kid from the left) even got to meet Rod Carew.
