Escape Pod 991: After the Rain

Unsolicited writing advice, no: 6:
The writing world is divided between people who really want to write, and those who want to be writers. To find out which one you are, visualize yourself as a writer. And if that visualization doesn't show you writing, then do yourself a favour: find another hobby.

I met Douglas Murray when I covered the launch of his first book, Bosie, for Publishing News. Back then, if anyone was younger than me and doing better in their career, I thought they were a cunt. I thought Murray was a massive cunt. Time has shown that it wasn't just my professional bitterness.

Wherever possible please buy your books directly from authors and/or publishers. Even ebooks (then Amazon can't delete them either). We make a better cut and you get the same thing or better, plus Bezos and ilk don't get richer. Win win win.
