Uber is better in a lot of ways for many types of trips but mass dispersed transit out of an airport with no train line isn't it.

Simplicity is key.

I've done the taxi ride a hundred times, maybe more over decades.

Yes, Melbourne taxis suck and need modernisation but a taxi rank is a simple and optimised process.

Contrast getting off in Sydney the other day, walked out at peak time & got a taxi in 2-3 mins. Perfectly fine.

So to see such a mature, healthy, fat red belly black snake was such a treat as it means there's also plenty of other wildlife around to support it which feels like a micro bit of good news for this beautiful environment.

When I was a kid, where I took this photo, I would regularly see snakes, wallabies, koalas, water dragons + still common bush denizens. But all the building, pollution & numerous bushfires have reduced their populations drastically.

Deep in the bush you'll still find them if you're really lucky.

Video showing the red belly black snake heading off the road back into the bush.

Asphalt in the sunshine would have been lovely & warm for it - thankfully I was driving quite slowly and saw it, so stopped with plenty of distance so I didn't kill or injure (or scare) it.

some time back I built this little border radius visualizer to help figure out how some complex shapes might work- what's interesting (but understood) is how adjustments to specific corners of the element *seem* to affect other corners

That's unfortunate. But still pretty cool regardless. Intuitively I know it's not that much data in the grand scheme of things, but it's neat to be able to have it available (for a range of contexts)

Can you update it periodically to keep it in sync?

The survey is still open, so if you're a developer (or know one) if you can take 5 mins to fill it out, I'd be greatly appreciated (and I'll share the results!).

Maturity around how AI code outputs are reviewed & also development of skills across the whole team means scaling the producivity gains won't be sustainable.

Right now it seams like focus of AI is on use by *individuals* in teams, not how the whole team collectively changes practices.

The survey is still open and I'm still looking for responses. If you're a dev (or know one) then please take 5 mins to provide your thoughts on how you're using AI as part of your software engineering practices.

The report will be released showing how AI is being used by orgs.

Had no idea what to expect when I saw this, but ended up listening to the whole thing. Way better than I thought.

How would you ever think these two songs should / could go together....

Even more weird is the use of phonetics as rationale for why it fails and particular the way lips work when making the sounds.

This is some A-grade post-rationalisation going on here to defend a mistake.

I hear you.

As someone working for a NFP whose entire mission is to get high quality and trusted information / content to people in need, it feels like we're about to be strip mined out of existence.

That isn't the web I have spent over half my life helping to build :(
