Just to add more to this madness that I’m learning: Dr. King LOVED his grandma and he was her fave. One day, his brother AD slid down the banister and right into Gran and knocked her out. ML was so shook by it, he jumped out the 2nd floor window. Then again a few years later when she passed 😳😦

There have been some wild revelations in this book like Du Bois beefing with Walter White and basically calling him a white man 🤯. Now, WW was a hella light skin (see pic) and used his ability to pass to reporting on lynchings.

WW retaliated saying W.E.B. liked sleeping with light skin women 😭😭

I’m currently reading/ listening to this book & my mind is blown 😲. 6 chapters in & it’s fundamentally shifting how I see the Movement and Dr. King.

In learning the nuance of history, how do I not place leaders like him on a pedestal while honoring their work because they are still flawed humans?
