Book 21, another Jack Reacher novel with One Shot. It's the familiarity I think enjoy. It was like many of the others in the series from Lee Child. This one didn't make it to my top 3, but I still wanted my own coffee every time it was mentioned. 3 out of 5

Book 20, another short read to try and catch up. Can't remember how I even acquired this one but always enjoy spending time with The Doctor(s). Supremacy of the Cybermen was a quick adventure with some old faces. 5/5 nostalgia trip.

Book 19 was an accidental reread, downside to purchasing used books, didn't realize this was part of book 1 collection of the Sandman series I already had. Oh well, I'll double check next time. At least it helped me on the path to getting caught back up.

Book 18 took me way too long. I was one ahead of my goal and now I'm four behind! The Lady of the Lake by Andrzei Sapkowski was a slog for me. Some chapters I enjoyed while others were rough and I couldn't tell you why. It was 2 out of 5 for me. Hopefully I can catch up.

Book 17 done. Dan Harris's 10% Happier caught my eye as a bookstore staff top pick. With the world, particularly the US, not having a lot to be happy about now, I thought why not. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5/5 since it kept my attention, and I am going to give meditation a try

Trying to be a bit more timely. Book 16 complete. This one was a recommendation from my wife. Feeding Ghosts was a bit of a different read, a graphic novel dealing with generational trauma. It also provides some dark history of China that I certainly didn't know. 5/5 for me

I've been forgetting to post again... Book 15 was finished a few weeks back. Black Mountain Poems was a collection from Black Mountain College close to where we live, but this was my second pickup from Faulkner Books when I was in New Orleans. 4/5 for me.

Book 14 was finished a few weeks ago, but I've been traveling for work and forgot to post!
Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops was a cute little read that I picked up at Faulkner House Books in New Orleans a few weeks ago and it was a 3 out of 5 for me.

Book 13 was done so quickly. It's such a shame with everything going on with Gaiman. I really enjoy his books. I'm trying not to let the person tarnish the story, but I'll also never again buy his books new, used only. The book was a lightly macabre take on The Jungle Book.

Book 12 complete, took a bit longer to get through it than I thought, but still quick for the subject. Fantastic Numbers and Where to Find Them is a great read for those that want to know more about math and physics without the need for a degree in either, come curious.

Book 11 is done, went with a date with a book that was marked as poetry. I wanted something different and shorter. i want to undie you was captive and moving, and I feel like I rarely "get" poetry. I'd consider it 5/5 since it told a very moving story and I could feel it.

Book 10 complete. Didn't realize there was a sequel to the Pittacus Lore books. So when I saw Generation One in a used book store I figured why not. Forgot how fast these books read, but it wasn't bad. Not as enjoyable as the original but okay, 2.5/5.

Book 9 flew by. When I found out that Brian McClellan was a student of Sanderson's and was also into hard magic systems, I was excited. The Crimson Campaign was an excellent book two and left me wanting more (good thing book 3 is already in the wings), a definitive 5/5 for me.

Book 8 done. This was another of the Jack Reacher series. I was caught a bit off guard by it going into Reacher's past and still being in the military. Still a solid book, 4/5.

Book 7 completed - I jumped back into the Dark Tower series with The Waste Lands. This book felt slower than it should have been for some reason, so I'm guessing that's on me because it was a solid 4/5 for me. I loved the riddles and I guess need more books centered on them.

Book 6 done, this time one for a work book club. Lead It Like Lasso was okay. It was your generic leadership style book with some pop culture tied in making it tolerable. I'd give it a 2.5/5.

Book 5 is complete. I've struggled to get as much reading time in this month a I'd like so Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson took me longer to complete than usual, but fully enjoyed it. Only thing I have left to read from him is the Alcatraz series, but need to find them first!

So last night to de-stress from coup happening in the US right now, I took a nice relaxing bubble bath. Most folks say they unwind with a hot bath and a glass of wine, but have you tried a hot bath with a mug of one of your favorite childhood cereals? It was lovely.

Book 4 done!
Jumped back to fantasy with a new author. I'm a sucker for hard magic systems and this book even came with a recommendation from my favorite author. Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan was a 5/5 for me especially for the first book of a series.

Book Three...is in the books? Hadn't planned on going through another Jack Reacher novel so soon. However, I found out the next season of the show was based around the next novel in the order, Persuader, I jumped into it. Overall, a solid 4.5/5 for me.

Second book of the year down. This one was The Drawing of the Three by the great @stephenking.bsky.social. Gave it a 4.75/5 (would have put 4.9 if had let me) on #Storygraph, it was a great read and, to me, the pacing was much better than The Gunslinger.
