A new lava overflow from the North Crater Area is sending a small flow down the upper Sciara del Fuoco. Steady spattering continues from two vents in the north, along with ongoing explosive activity from the Southern Crater Area.

INGV reports a new effusive vent opening at ~3200 m on the S flank of the SE Crater, feeding a lava flow toward the ŚW.
Effusive activity continues from vents at ~3100 m and 2980 m. Strombolian explosions and ash emissions persist, dispersing quickly in the atmosphere.

🌋 Explosive activity continues at #Lewotobi-Laki-Laki volcano with moderate to high energy. Yesterday’s eruption (Aug 1) sent an ash plume ~11 km high, with volcanic lightning visible. A no-entry zone remains in place within 8 km of the crater.
