#Etna update 🌋
#INGV reported that a new eruptive vent has opened near Mt. Simone at ~2,100 m a.s.l., feeding a lava flow down the Valle del Bove. The most advanced front has reached 1,500–1,400 m a.s.l.
INGV teams are currently on site monitoring the flow’s evolution.

Multiple vents opened inside Halemaʻumaʻu, creating giant fountains-some shooting over 300 m into the air-and an ash-and-gas plume towering over the crater. One of the webcams even got taken out by the heat.

INGV reports a new effusive vent opening at ~3200 m on the S flank of the SE Crater, feeding a lava flow toward the ŚW.
Effusive activity continues from vents at ~3100 m and 2980 m. Strombolian explosions and ash emissions persist, dispersing quickly in the atmosphere.
