Husband is at a library conference downtown today and I'm jealous because I miss going to professional conferences.

Plus he got cool bookish stickers yesterday!

The Ohio legislature passed SB 293, the bill that takes away the 4-day acceptance window for absentee ballots. It heads to the governor's desk now, our last chance to protect Ohio voters against this harmful & unnecessary change.
Call Governor DeWine now to urge him to veto SB 293! bit.ly/MikeDeWine

I love how my mom's group email inviting people for Thanksgiving highlights my daughter as a problem picky eater, while putting her same age cousin on a pedestal as a useful, helpful baker.

My daughter loves to bake and is not the only grandchild with food issues.

Watching The Kids go up against the nonprofit industrial complex that's been entrenched in this city for a hundred years makes me wish that someone would write that great American nonprofit industrial complex novel.

On this day, 33 years ago, Bram Stoker’s Dracula was released in cinemas.

Starring #GaryOldman, #WinonaRyder, #KeanuReeves and #AnthonyHopkins it was an Oscar-winning, critically acclaimed success and one of the most revered #vampire movies ever.

His people don't care about right and wrong and they especially don't care about girls and young women. The Trads and the Manosphere would applaud if he "just" committed the horrific crime of abusing teenage girls. What is in those files?
One horrific thing to me is that the president- a man who has gotten away with everything including literal murder up to this point- seems extremely nervous about anything regarding Epstein coming out. Like how bad does it have to be

I'm trying to see how much my medical test to see if I still have a blood clot in my liver in February will cost.
Southwest would be $3300.
UH would be $2900
Metro won't freaking let me get an estimate unless I put in my insurance number which I can't do yet.

In other news, since my husband, biggest Great Lakes boat nerd on the planet, has to work late tomorrow night, we're having GLBC Edmund Fitzgerald's tonight.

Such a good beer.

Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

Feeling absolutely defeated right now.

How am I going to afford health insurance on top of the monthly payments I'm making to pay off my hospitalization this year?

Should I just cancel my Feb ultrasound to see if the blood clot in my liver is gone?

I stopped getting calls and texts from Democrats when I told them "I'm not donating a single fucking dime to any candidate who is not making an open and affirmative defense of trans rights."
If Schumer caves, we need to make him an albatross around the neck of the DNC. You know what to do.

Feel free to use my script from the quoted thread however you like, no restrictions.
I won't donate to or vote for another Senate Democrat as long as Schumer is Leader, & I will tell my social media followers to do the same. As a respected activist, I can influence thousands of people with a single post. Thank you. 3/3

I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.
November 10, 2025 at 1:02 AM
The Senate has reached a "deal".

Federal workers can return to work.

I get to wait another month for a vote to see if I can actually afford health insurance next year.

The deadline to apply for ACA is Dec 15th, so hopefully they'll have the vote in before that.
