Russ Vought set out to ensure a second Trump term would not be hampered by checks and balances:

“I don’t want President Trump having to lose a moment of time having fights in the Oval Office about whether something is legal or doable or moral.”

All but declared…all that’s missing is suspension of the constitution, habeas corpus and the US military. But we are close to martial law in this moment and it’s getting hard to tell the difference.

I never thought I'd say this but I just got off the phone with my dad, a green card holder, warning him to be careful about going outside because he's latino. He lives in the DC metro area. Trump's government is conducting a terror campaign against its own residents.

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, a native of Chicago who is now the first American-born pope, has spent most of his career outside of the U.S, ministering to the dispossessed and marginalized.

Don't research your family history guys. I just discovered that my parents are 4th cousins. Family gatherings are going to be super awkward now

After completing my mom's side of the family tree today (58 ancestor profiles on familysearch with 45 added by me), I think I understand why "old money" or aristocratic families are so conservative. They have hundreds of years of history weighing on them all the time! It's like living with ghosts.

THIS is what Trump’s Panama Canal flip out is about. Sadly not even joking. Yes, Trump is this petty. Trump sold condos to South American Narcos and the Russian mob, out of a Trump-licensed tower in Panama. Many of the units went unoccupied. Strictly money laundering op. 🔄

This is one of Trump’s Panamanian biz partners: Panama’s ex president, Ricardo Martinelli, was convicted of corruption (he also spied on Americans, including John McCain’s campaign mgr). He is hiding out in an embassy, IMO, waiting for Trump to save him. We’ll see.

There have been multiple strikes in Panama since last week, but until now I had no idea that they were due to investigations of money laundering. Panama's level of corruption is no joke. newsroompanama.com/2025/04/29/m...

This prompt apparently just broke Anthropic's Claude 3.7 Sonnet Thinking model. What's funny is that it's a legitimate question -- I just discovered that my parents are likely 11th or 12th cousins! I also find that familial relationship questions tend to break Claude. Try it for yourself.

I'm shadowbanned on Twitter so this won't get any attention there, but basically a racist blogger named Crémieux was just exposed for plagiarizing from @dynomight.net. Crémieux is part of a movement called Human Biodiversity or HBD which claims that whites are superior due to possessing higher IQ.

I fight for healthcare because I’ve lived it.

I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in grad school—and had to fight just to get the care I needed.

No one should have to battle the system while battling for their life. Healthcare is a human right. I won’t stop fighting.

If the only way your history can be “great” is to
- ban books
- eradicate curriculum
- erase historic figures’ legacies
- attack museums
- dismantle exhibits
- discard artifacts
- threaten educators, librarians & curators
then it’s painfully obvious that your “history” isn’t that great.

Since I was able to confirm that Luigi read my letter (he didn't respond), I thought other people might find it interesting to read an excerpt of the types of things people are writing to him.

Also, don't send him letters if you expect him to respond! The people who are stalking him need to stop!

I always wondered how Nazis came to power in post-WWI Germany. It turns out that they were just stupid racists and other people were either too scared to call out their racism, or they thought Nazi rule would benefit them. How else could you explain American conservatives allowing this to exist?

just realized this roast of will stancil goes kinda hard
i see will as a broken clock that is correct twice a day -- he argues based off what he WANTS to be true instead of what actually is true, and sometimes he gets it correct. but you'd have to already know the truth because his arguments don't really persuade anyone. it's like he makes anti-arguments
