"Zero interest in real consequences": true

"Every field": at a minimum, every field with any sort of power. Also true.
I’ve sat down three or four times this year to write about how global health is uniquely infected by a mix of cynical punditry, back-room deal making, and zero interest in real consequences, and then I remember - it’s every field.

I write about white ignorance and how exhausting it is to hear white ppl insist "this isn't who we are, when it's ALWAYS who we've been.
White People’s Performative Ignorance Is Exhausting—Opinion
Disbelief over authoritarianism in America isn’t a cutesy personality trait. It’s a confession: You haven’t been paying attention.

an era of breaking news reflects brokenness.

as a utility, we see it in infrastructure. but as humans, we see it around us in communities and relationships and trust.

no matter the system, mending requires investment—time, resources, attention.

when news breaks, may what’s broken be renewed.

The next Democratic star won’t be a centrist peacemaker—it’ll be someone who calls out fascism, names racism, and refuses to do “both sides” authoritarianism. The base is hungry for fighters who don’t flinch, and the first one to swing hard will rise fast.

Last week, ICE arrested a six-year-old Queens public school student at her family's scheduled check-in. This morning, she was deported along with her mother. One of her siblings remains in detention.
