this is irresponsible and wreckless. therapy requires care, compassion, sympathy, and being able to listen and relate with the person. AI can do none of that. people's lives are on the line, and bad therapy can cause much more harm than no therapy

The first of his books I read is still one of my favourites - Joyland from 2013. Enjoyed it as an evocative coming-of-age story.
