I've been busy learning the #Elektron #Digitone II. It's that thing I've missing that I didn't know was missing! I can make rough sketches so much faster than with a DAW!

Sigh. Just after I finished remaking my website with #WordPress, I learned about all the drama going on with it. I'm really hoping the fighting between devs doesn't make things difficult for folks like me who are just trying to run our small sites.

I wanted a hardware #synth for hands on #SoundDesign, but I'm falling in love with the #sequencer. Parameter locks are everything. I want more tracks, song mode, longer patterns! I think an #Elektron would suit my workflow. Now I see why hardware is a rabbithole.

I see people ask how to get started with #MusicProduction or #photography. I just realized why I have a hard time relating - I never wanted to get into either. I got into both by messing around and then gradually learning more.

Reading through this explainer probably won't make you better at #synth #SoundDesign, but it will give you better understanding of what's happening as you modify sound waves. Every one of Bartosz Ciechanowski's explainers is amazing, but this is my favorite.

I broke my website a few times in the process, but I managed to set it up so #Wordpress doesn't appear to be in a sub-directory even though it is.
(1st, I messed with settings to see if I could just figure it out. I lost access and had to edit the database to fix it. I don't recommend that approach)

#Godox has a new flash! The V860III, V1, and V1 pro never seemed like worthwhile upgrades from my V860II, but the new V100 may be it. There's a significant power increase!

To capture a reflection, the intended source has to be well lit. I started by aiming 2 flashes where my face would be. I used hard light just because it was easier to get intense light on my face and control spill without dealing with big modifiers . . .

I shot this #SelfPortrait for the cover art of a single I'm releasing soon. This was all done in camera - that's my actual reflection. Getting the lighting just right was a pain, but I'm happy with how it came out. I'll post about the process/setup later today.

I just learned I can add #lyrics to my old releases for free with Musixmatch. This is something I wanted back when I released my album Reverse Psychology. I try to say a lot in my music, so more accessible lyrics is a huge plus.
