Great new graph from @chuckcbpp.bsky.social and @centeronbudget.bsky.social.

The Trump tax cuts are regressive, giving a bigger tax cut to the rich than the poor.

Adding on something like no tax on tips doesn't do anything to change that picture. It's still a giant tax cut for the rich.

To sum it up, the president ordered water released for fires in LA with water that doesn’t reach LA, at volumes that could cause communities to flood, and in the wrong season for irrigating crops, which will then mean less water for irrigating crops in the summer when it’s actually needed.

I estimate if the US Army Corps continues throwing away #water from these reservoirs for three days, Tulare County farmers will lose 5 billion gallons of water that should have been available this summer growing season.
About 1.6 billion gallons a day.

Californians are not this stupid. I’m sure of it.
Trump: "I'm signing an executive order to open up the pumps and valves in the north. We want to get that water pouring down here as quickly as possible ... you're talking about unlimited water coming up from the Pacific Northwest, even coming from parts of Canada."

This is unfortunately even more relevant now with respect to the growing Hughes Fire (and Castaic Lake), as Edith de Guzman @luskininnovation.bsky.social pointed out to me.
2. PSA if the ~10 other valid arguments don’t work for you, some crude visual evidence that even when you have water reservoirs nearby (in this case literally next-door), it doesnt mean that you easily “stop” a wildfire

“To say CA has always had wildfires is a classic form of climate denial. For years we've heard, ‘The climate has always changed...' that’s just totally disingenuous. The question is whether climate change is making those things worse. The answer is yes."

As the new year approaches, the already remarkable season-to-date "precipitation dipole" in California has further intensified. Much of SoCal has still not received meaningful rain this season, while NorCal continues to get soaked on a recurring basis. #CAwx #CAwater #CAfire
