I think the most remarkable part of the story is that Gaetz clearly violated Florida state law, but no one filed charges.
Whitehouse: "You had a guy who Trump was proposing to be the top prosecutor for the US whose only experience with criminal investigations was to be the subject of them ... the reflection of this on the judgement of Trump is perhaps the most remarkable part of this story"

Every Christmas my parents write an individual letter to each of their children, sons in law, and grandchildren to tell them how proud they are of them and tonight my newborn got his letter and it was 2 pages single spaced and this kid hasn't even done anything yet.

Just a reminder that in 2019, RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine misinformation campaign helped cause a measles outbreak in Samoa that killed 83 people, mostly kids.

Do you really want him to lead the Department of Health and Human Services?

A key asymmetry of this era of American politics and how it’s covered is that Trump is expected to do bad and corrupt things, so when he does it barely qualifies as news. But Dems are expected to be beyond reproach, so anything that seems even slightly suspect is a huge scandal.

News has just broke that Trump plans to eject trans people from the military within days of inauguration.

Trans servicemembers who have served 19 years will lose their pensions and healthcare.

This is obscene. They served our country, and will be kicked to the side like trash.

Where did Trump go? He's mostly been hidden from public view since being named the winner. Now, aside from posts obviously written by his team, he's even disappeared from social media for the past four days. This is approaching Weekend at Bernie's level absurd:

Makes me sad re-reading this amazing letter from ex-Watergate Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox sent to high school seniors in 1994 after they asked him “What should Americans learn from Watergate?” 20 years later in ‘94.

His answer is remarkable—unfortunately things didn’t work out so well in 2024.
