I usually scp the db locally, explore it in a browser SQLite viewer ( inloop.github.io/sqlite-viewer/ ), then run any changes via a migration/script on update. Not as convenient as MySQL for ad-hoc edits, but it’s simpler to set up. Plus that keeps changes versioned in code, which is good, I guess.
