26, she/her, artist, writer, historical costumer.

Ask me about my chocolate strawberry donuts recipe.

Allow me to actually introduce my current project!

The embroidered panel I’ve already featured is one of ten, and eventually, it will be a covering for an antique (late 19th c) parasol frame!

Below you can see all the panels laid out, the fitting, and the beautiful engraved handle.

In that familiar old incompetence I haven't missed, Trump's executive order defines sex as what a person is at CONCEPTION.

Fetal sex doesn't begin to differentiate until about 7 weeks into gestation.

Which means Donald used the highest office in the land to declare all Americans legally female.

Unfortunately there is a dirty of good fabric stores in my area, so a lot of the time I make do with thrifted curtains and tablecloths, and the occasional online fabric purchase. But yes, the urge to buy fabric never quite goes away
Me too! Except I buy fabric, and then don't make things. 😅
Learning to sew really does cut down on my urge to buy pretty clothes— I see ads online and my immediate thought is “I could make that, and it’d be more flattering than if I bought it.”

Do I actually make the things? Not often. But that’s beside the point.

Sometimes “maturity” is making a 1930s dress instead of an 1890s dress due to rewearability and time constraints.

We can revisit the 1890s design later.

Hand embroidery is such a slow art, but there is something very satisfying about seeing it come together. #art #embroidery
