Yeah, absolutely. I've found that staggering rows of satin stitches can make a smoother finish for big spaces? It's hard to describe so here's a visual reference. But I focus on not letting the stitches get too long, an inch or two at most.

Allow me to actually introduce my current project!

The embroidered panel I’ve already featured is one of ten, and eventually, it will be a covering for an antique (late 19th c) parasol frame!
