It is incredible that I chose today to come and check Bluesky to see Nilay Patel getting his face kicked in. Boy, is that glorious.

Alright, this was funny.

Man, if they're doing another UI overhaul for iOS 19, they better hope they have all of the bugs ironed out. If they don't deliver a solid user experience without hiccup, it will not be great for their already dwindling UX reputation.

Apple's delay of AI-powered Siri integrations cements the rollout of #Apple Intelligence as one of the biggest strategic misses the company has had in the last 15 years. Just brutal.

They are so far behind in on-device AI, and I don't think they'll ever catch up.

In the last several months, I buried my iPhone in a drawer and have learned to embrace Android again. I've gone through the Pixel Pro 9 XL and now the S25 Ultra.

Now, the review circle is convincing me I need to import the Xiaomi Ultra 15, which I really want to do.

Funny how quickly things changed when the money stopped.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed a new framework for a partial ceasefire with Russia, posting on X that Kyiv would be willing to release prisoners and agree to a truce that would ban long range attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure.
Zelensky offers partial ceasefire with Russia to restart peace talks
After the U.S. froze military aid claiming Zelensky wasn’t ready for peace, the Ukrainian president called the Oval Office incident “regrettable” and restated his commitment to a deal.

I've been mentally cross-shopping 3 cars for the last year: Tesla Model 3, Ford Mach-E, & Subaru WRX. I was finally able to test drive a Mach-E over the weekend, and was so disappointed by how it felt behind the wheel.

Interior of the car is wonderful, but I'm glad to finally know it's not for me.

Best movie I watched this year was Cooper DeJean picking off Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl and running it back for a touch.

We'll figure out very quickly who is telling the truth.

If National Parks get through tourism season without major bottlenecks, DOGE actually cut wasteful spending.

If National Parks fall apart, it was a misguided spending cut.
More than 700 National Park Service employees have submitted resignations as part of Elon Musk’s “fork in the road” offer, according to an internal agency memo. The plan would diminish staffing ahead of the busy summer tourism season, critics said.
Hundreds in Park Service Have Opted to Quit, Agency Memo Says
The report has raised concerns about national park access and maintenance heading into the summer travel season.

Republicans do the same shit Democrats do and people still root for these shitty teams.
The White House will determine which news organizations and reporters can be part of the press “pool” that rotates access to President Trump in small settings, taking control from a nonpartisan media group that currently oversees the assignments

The move reflects the Trump administration’s more-skeptical attitude toward traditional media outlets.

War is bad.

I truly do not care what Donald Trump says during a peace process if he can find the end to a drawn out and unnecessary war. If he needs to pander to Putin to get the missiles to stop, so be it. We aren't beholden to anyone.
President Trump's approach to the war in Ukraine is a reversal of the last three years, the editorial board writes, "but also a repudiation of a nearly eight-decade core belief that the United States was safer in a world where it stood against aggression and authoritarianism and for freedom."
Opinion | Trump’s Misguided Strategies for Peace in Ukraine
In their silence, Republicans are betraying the Ukrainians, national security and their own party’s values.

I have been in this weird technology funk lately where, outside of my iPad, I want nothing to do with any of my #Apple devices. iPhone has been in the drawer in favor of the Galaxy Ultra and Pixel Pro. I'm even exploring a world where I buy a new Windows laptop in place of a new MacBook.

4 Nations wildly exceeded everyone's expectations and single handily grew the stakes in next year's Olympic play. Not involving Russia was the only strategic miss.

You can't convince me this place isn't a political echochamber when simply inserting a very modest counterargument into someone's discussion results in an immediate block 9 out of 10 times.

I know it's incredibly unlikely, but if Apple could give the Air lineup ProMotion displays, I would likely choose it over the MacBook Pro. The display is the only thing keeping me invested in the Pro series at this point.

2024 really reignited my passion for following the technology space. Mobile is always what I dive into head first. I really want to get back into tech blogging, just to have a space to empty my thoughts onto a canvas. I'm figuring this out, but I imagine BlueSky will be a place for commentary.
