The European Court of Justice has delivered its much awaited judgment on the EU Minimum Wage Directive. The Court upheld the directive’s underlying principles but annulled two provisions. 🧵

🔻The Court of Justice of the EU has upheld the Directive on MinimumWages but annulled parts of Article 5.

The ECJ found that certain provisions on wage adequacy criteria and indexation mechanisms interfered directly with pay, exceeding the EU’s powers under the Treaties!

The directive stands, but Denmark gets partial victory in landmark case on minimum wage at European Court of Justice. Changes to some articles. Denmark is ordered to pay 2/3 of the costs. #minimumwage

Bella, viva e partecipata presentazione de #laquestionesalariale ieri a Roma.

#RealWages are now rising in almost all OECD countries, but in two-thirds of them, workers still haven’t regained the purchasing power lost since early 2021.

"Arbeit macht frei" - work makes one free, was a cynical welcome at Auschwitz I. SS guards often told prisoners of #Auschwitz that the only way out from the camp was through the chimney of the crematorium.

Eighty years ago today, over 7,000 prisoners of the German Nazi camp #Auschwitz, including some 700 children, were liberated by the soldiers of the Soviet Army.

1,689 days of murder, pain, suffering, and humiliation were over.
Today, we all remember. We must keep remembering.
