It's fun to explore different flowers, how they can change the composition and narrative. There is a balance between their aesthetics and what I ultimately enjoy drawing & painting that I need to strike. You've got to enjoy the journey to the finished artwork 🐰

On the days I am about to give up, this Gwendolyn Brooks poem gives me an anchor.

I am working my way through Todd Oldham’s giant monograph on Alexander Girard and I am smitten with these wooden daisies Alexander “Sandro” carved for his wife, Susan. The book is full of these artistic expressions of love. #love #alexandergirard
