Hot out the kiln.
Mixing it up with some Savannah Greys
Soda fired slip cast with over glaze decals. The glaze is like butter.
My work is not just about object making.. there’s layered meaning, with history ..

Ceramics I’m working on for the algorithm, for those folks quietly sitting this shit show out.
Sadly not an option for me

Just got my new kiln and realized the plug doesn’t match my outlet.. it fits a standard dryer plug instead.

Is it easier to change the kiln’s cord or replace the outlet? Feels like I’ve landed in London with the wrong adapter..ugh! Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Should I have a naming ceremony for my new kiln or no?

What really strikes me is the silent acceptance when hate is directed toward marginalized communities, particularly Black individuals. It’s disheartening to see that many only recognize the severity of these issues when they’re personally affected

It’s way too early for my mind to be whispering ‘brace yourself.’ But hey, y’all wanted this.

Kiln’s on, my stress levels are high, and so is my awareness.
Ceramics, like life, is full of unpredictability—cracks, mishaps, unexpected turns.
But silence? Indifference? That’s not an option.

If you’re not feeling the heat, are you even paying attention?

Studio work and civic work go hand in hand.
Ceramics teaches patience, process, and resilience—so does democracy.
Glazing pieces today, then placing some calls to my senators, Raphael Warnock & Jon Ossoff, because silence doesn’t shape the future.

A poem for my future kiln
I love thee in the fire’s slow rise,
in the whisper of coils warming,
in the silent prayers outside your door.

I love thee in the hush before the opening,
in the lesson that nothing leaves unchanged,
in the beauty of what withstands, and the grace of what does not

Shipping costs just jumped. Ceramic artists? Holding our fragile little pots and contemplating life choices
February 3, 2025 at 7:23 PM
I checked shipping prices. Big mistake. Now I’m crying😭

Is it just my timeline, or do ceramic artists exist in a secret, untouched dimension where the biggest concern is getting the perfect glaze finish?

The world: teetering on the edge of collapse.
Ceramic artists: gently smoothing the ears of a tiny clay rabbit, blissfully unaware

The world: burning, unraveling, rewriting itself in real time.
Ceramic artists: Today, I made a wobbly pot and a tiny frog. Life is good
