I’ve been wondering who would revive the relatively unknown Stempel typeface, Information (and its predecessor Reform-Grotesk). Fortunately, it is Pierre Pané-Farré and Forgotten Shapes: forgotten-shapes.com/information

For National Library Week, we can't recommend enough @shannonmattern.bsky.social's 2014 essay "Library as Infrastructure."

A decade on, it remains a potent argument for libraries as social, technological & intellectual infrastructure — part of a critical network of institutions buoying public life.

Intuition and good taste are fundamentally at odds with modern-day management bureaucracy
It’s fascinating how startups with just a small team of designers can create far better UI/UX than massive corporations with hundreds of design staff. It’s as if passion, agility and focus outshine size and resources.

Social networks took everything from the web and gave nothing back, thus ending the 2.0 era.
Don’t be surprised why we are not on Threads

Fantastic new release by Sharp Type (Ceraph). Really easy to use due to its x-height. Italics are always a treat in Sharp Type's catalogue

A good thought to start the day at the studio: An argument against art that addresses contemporary issues and topical culture rests on the virtue of slowness [...] Slowness works against all of our prevailing urges and requirements [...] Moving with the times places you in a blind spot.
