“Can’t believe NYC elected a Muslim as mayor.”

In truth—a Black American Christian woman swearing in a Ugandan American Muslim of South Asian ethnicity as his Syrian American wife holds the Qurans he swears in on, all while standing on the steps of a subway station—is the most NYC thing imaginable.

To piggyback off of John's point (reposted), it's struck me lately how the baseline level of friendliness in cities has always seemed remarkably higher than the suburbs or rural areas to me, and I think it's because everyone is used to interacting with strangers as a routine part of their day

I just don’t see how we can pretend even for a moment that anything involving our federal government is remotely normal when the president is covering up his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring. Like, what are we doing here

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

Also, they clearly want a nationwide abortion ban.

Dems should have held the line.

Republicans demand tougher abortion restrictions to extend Obamacare funds
Democrats say that’s a nonstarter, arguing there are already limits on abortion access. The dispute could torpedo a deal, leading to higher health insurance premiums for millions.

It doesn't actually matter if Chuck Schumer votes for this or not.

If he can't keep his caucus unified to protect healthcare for over 10 million Americans, he should resign as leader.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Schumer will vote against the deal, but that does not matter.

Either he gave the moderates nodding approval to their actions, or he is unable to keep his caucus together.

This is his failure. @schumer.senate.gov should resign tonight (at least as leader) if this deal goes through.

i really resent the continued assertion that there’s so much anger on both sides, as if the causes of the anger are equally legitimate. we’re angry because masked maniacs are violently snatching our family and neighbors off the street, and they’re angry because we’re calling them out for it.

And this isn't about raising birth rates. It's about restoring the gender hierarchy.
The American Mind, a Claremont publication, is coming for birth control, declaring in a new article by Scott Yenor that the birth control pill has had “grave consequences for our society...” 10/20/25… 1/ americanmind.org/salvo/rfk-sh...

It absolutely makes sense that men are using AI more and seeing more job benefits, because confidently spouting nonsense in the shape of information (what LLMs are programmed to do) has always been much more of a pathway for career advancement for men than for others.
Every. Single. Story. about women not using AI as much as men portray it as bad for their future career prospects (without a shred of evidence) and a result of women being fearful little ladies rather than looking at AI's output and saying "this sucks, it's not going to help me."
For women, the increase of AI use in the workplace may affect their careers: Harvard study
Women are using AI significantly less then men and it’s going to have a major impact on their careers, according to extensive research on the topic.

When people support Andrew Cuomo, what they’re saying implicitly is that they don’t care about the women he’s already sexually harassed and retaliated against and they won’t care if he does it again. It’s a political stance that enables discrimination against women in government
