The vagueness of the threat is critical. They know that legal citizens will get swept up in this. They know it will be a dehumanizing process for everyone. They know it is a blank check for the worst people in LE to terrorize whoever they want. That is the point.
I'm not sure whether they really want to deport undocumented people, which would hurt those people a lot & hurt the US citizens who benefit from underpaying undocumented workers; or if this is mainly a threat against US citizens of color, so that they can be exploited the way undocumented people are

one of the things that strikes me about the consistency and outspokenness of tennant's trans and nonbinary support is that he doesn't make it about his nonbinary child. I'm sure that has helped focus his opinions but he frames it as an issue of principle, history and philosophy. as he should!
