I wrote this blog recently, on my somewhat conflicted thoughts on 'weight loss', as a Personal Trainer (and someone who has been on a weight loss 'journey' themselves).
my ‘philosophy’ on weight loss — Fit Different
Maybe it’s because it’s that time of year… when everyone is setting a New Year’s Resolution to lose X kilos or get the ‘beach body’ of their dreams. or maybe it’s because I’m currently evaluating…

#ADHD got you feeling stuck?

Stand up.

Sometimes, all it takes is that first move to build momentum.

The inverse is also extremely important.

On a roll getting things done? Don't sit down!

Coordination training isn’t just for athletes—it’s brain training for #ADHD too!

Research shows that improving coordination can boost motor control AND cognitive function.

🧠 #ADHD brains struggle with habits, but there’s a trick I've used that helps: Habit Stacking.

Tie the new habit to something you love or already do.

🥗 For me, gym days make it way easier to eat healthy.

All-or-nothing thinking finally working FOR me, not AGAINST me!

You don’t need to sweat for hours to get the benefits of exercise for #ADHD.

Just 20 minutes of moderate activity can boost motivation, energy, and even reduce brain fog!

Struggling to fall asleep?

It might be another lovely #ADHD symptom.

There's a big correlation between ADHD and a delayed circadian rhythm, making it nearly impossible to wind down at a “normal” time.

Those 3:54am nights staring at the alarm clock make more sense now.

Cardiovascular exercise, especially aerobic, has been shown to improve cerebellum function in ADHDers.

Time to make cardio my new best friend. #ADHD

🙄 Definition of a cosmic joke: #ADHD makes good sleep harder to get, and bad sleep makes ADHD symptoms worse.

Thanks. Thanks a lot.

Balance-based activities can LITERALLY grow your cerebellum 🤯

For those of us with #ADHD and therefore a potentially 4% smaller cerebellum, this could be a game changer.

Ready to find your balance? 🧘‍♀️

Got #ADHD? Struggling with attention? (I mean, yeah, duh).

🏋️‍♂️ Resistance training might be your secret weapon.

One study conducted on kids with ADHD found it reduced inattention levels by 5% 🤯

Weird trick that works for me...

#ADHD brains love a challenge, right?

So if you want to lose 12kg, aim for 18kg.

Want to run a 5k? Sign up for a 10k.

Just bold enough to be tough but still achievable.

I don't know why, but this motivates me more than a 'normal' goal.

This is so spot on from @roryreckons.bsky.social

I know this firsthand, having recently changed careers from one that I wasn't passionate about to one I'm hugely passionate about.

The difference is night and day - like, in simple terms, I'd go as far as saying I feel alive again!
'Do you think I should continue working in an area I'm not passionate about with ADHD?'

Being brutally honest - no. Unless you have enough outside your job to help you burn all your mental energy sustaining attention in something you don't find value in...

It's not great long term.
