If I wanted plants, and pots, I could make out like a bandit here. Some with flowers even. [2879] #AirWreckRuns

Since I had the time, today’s run was special. It wasn’t long, it wasn’t scenic, it wasn’t original. It was me picking up the Ballast from day care and running her home. As long as she has her apple juice, she doesn’t complain. [2878] #AirWreckRuns

I think the real reason that I’m finding it hard to motivate myself to run these days, is that this is a boring neighbourhood with not a lot of choice for running routes. Most of the time it just comes down to clockwise or counterclockwise. Same McMansions either way. [2877]

I didn’t expect to be able to complete Marywood Chase today, if ever: it has one of the more elaborate gates I’ve seen and looks really rich behind it. But then a car left while I was passing through, and you have to take the opportunities when they come. 1/4 [2876] #AirWreckRuns

Balloons thrown out as trash; waiting to be picked up as garbage. The sad end to a party. At the very least, you should have popped them to hide the tragedy. [2875] #AirWreckRuns

It’s been a week and a half since my last run, but I’m in the middle of moving. This was my first run from the new house so I’m experimenting with routes. Unfortunately it is still in the same neighbourhood, so nothing new to see. [2874] #AirWreckRuns

For American Thanksgiving, I took the Ballast out with me to pre-burn some calories. She found a stick beforehand and proudly waved it about for the entire run. This year, I am thankful for: she didn’t hit anyone we passed. [2873] #AirWreckRuns

I did some exploring in the old neighbourhood; I checked out a trail that has been completely overgrown every previous time I’ve tried it. Today, it was gloriously cleared: wide enough two cars could pass each other. [2872] #AirWreckRuns 1/2

The number of times I run has dropped a lot since I stopped doing consecutive running. If I don’t have that pressure to keep up the streak, I’m only running 1 - 2 days a week. I’m busy right now, which is my excuse. That won’t last forever. Will I ever really go back to running? [2871] #AirWreckRuns

A run in a new neighborhood for my birthday. There are some halloween decorations up. And I did see some inflatable Thanksgiving turkeys. But there are now Christmas decorations popping up. (Do you think the letters to Santa go to Canada? Does Rudolph look envious?) [2870] #AirWreckRuns

There are not a lot of Thanksgiving decorations up. This is the only one of note. But as a rule, the locals don’t put up a lot for this holiday, despite it being a bigger day than Christmas. [2869] #AirWreckRuns

A longer run in a different area. I made the mistake of doing the run on an empty stomach at lunchtime while passing a bunch of Mexican restaurants that smelled really good. [2868] #AirWreckRuns 1/3

The Ballast scraped her knee right before we went on our run. So I was subjected to performative crying the entire time. Unless there was a doggy visible: those got happily pointed out. And she was happy enough at the end. Drama queen. [2867] #AirWreckRuns

I have a 5km loop I’m using to get back into running. It’s cooler these days so I can take The Ballast with me more often. I let her choose which direction to go, but she seems to always pick clockwise. Maybe she likes heading towards the setting sun. [2865] #AirWreckRuns

Skeletons here have to hold on tight lest they fall off. A very real danger as the wind is picking up from the nearby hurricane. [2864] #AirWreckRuns

Another 5km. And consecutive with another run. But I’m going to try to not track consecutivity this time. The Ballast came along on this run, but I was still thirty seconds per kilometer faster today than yesterday, even with the aforementioned ballast. [2863] #AirWreckRuns

Yesterday was my first run in 18 days. I haven’t had a stretch of “no running” that long since August 2022 (for 25 days) when I had a broken toe. This time I get to blame heart surgery, flu recovery and carcinoma surgery. An easy 5km was a good start. [2862] #AirWreckRuns

There is only one house (that I know of) in this neighbourhood that is doing Halloween decorations. They are even doing their backyard where I get to see the looming skeleton looking over the main thoroughfare here. (2861] #AirWreckRuns

An attempt to get more street coverage by running along the widest highway in the world. It was during the evening, and I got to run towards the setting sun. Surprisingly nice sunset happening too. [2860] #AirWreckRuns

The Ballast is happy to join me on runs. But that is usually because she is bribed with an apple juice to drink along the way. I don’t know if she would be as enthused if she only got the pleasure of my company. [2859] #AirWreckRuns

I did a 5km Fun Run today with The Ballast. I did not do badly. There is a special kind of joy when you pass other runners while also pushing a stroller with a toddler in it. It was the fastest pace I’ve done in months. [2858] #AirWreckRuns

Now I’m up to 8km. My heart rate is getting higher, but it is a steady increase and not a spike so I’m not worried. Plus the weather is cooler, so I’m less likely to overheat. It helps that I’m running well after sunset. Waiting for muscle soreness to kick in though. [2857] #AirWreckRuns

I had another ultrasound yesterday: Hematoma is completely gone. And the operator said I have the arteries of a 25 year old. I better fierce up and go running again if I want to maintain youthful blood veins. [2856] #AirWreckRuns

I took the new heart out for a spin. Just a slow 5km. I finally felt safe to do so since my groin injury (a hematoma causing a mass effect) had stopped hurting. Heart rate never spiked and I didn’t feel any pain. So that is a good sign. [2855] #AirWreckRuns

I’m in Corpus Christi right now, and I am seeing so many things that I could run past and make a post about. (E.g. A freaking aircraft carrier.) But I’m not running. Actually I seem to be unable to run every time I come to this town. 1/2
