Mik Critchlow’s photos documenting the mining communities of South Northumberland are a wonderful record of a lost industry and its people. That his work will now be on permanent display at Woodhorn Museum in Ashington from May is great news.

In progress: With @arnoldvanbruggen.bsky.social I'm working on a new chapter for The Europeans in Spain. Abdul from Morocco fills the tank of the tractor. This is his fifth year in Southern European agriculture. Hardly any locals work in Europe’s largest vegetable and fruit garden.
