Today, March 20th, is Rewilding Day. To celebrate, a couple of wild Irish Atlantic rainforest images.

Rewilding isn't just the means by which nature loss is reversed: it's how we can reconnect with the natural world, and each other.

But Ireland is way behind: let's catch up! 🌍

Mik Critchlow’s photos documenting the mining communities of South Northumberland are a wonderful record of a lost industry and its people. That his work will now be on permanent display at Woodhorn Museum in Ashington from May is great news.
Go see it!

Robert Doisneau.

France.

“Like all street regulars, Doisneau knew how to capture the radiant gravity that isolates a human being from the crowd, these moments of grace that bring together passers-by in "the illusion of an instant" as in a dream geometry.”

Photographer Anne Rearick visited small, rural villages in the Basque Country for 34 years. Her new book, “Gure Bazterrak,” is a quietly stunning ode to country life, where nothing and everything happens. It’s just gorgeous. Available from @deadbeat-club.bsky.social

In progress: With @arnoldvanbruggen.bsky.social I'm working on a new chapter for The Europeans in Spain. Abdul from Morocco fills the tank of the tractor. This is his fifth year in Southern European agriculture. Hardly any locals work in Europe’s largest vegetable and fruit garden.
