To piggyback off of this, so much more anime per season is getting released internationally. Nearly every decently popular series will see screens outside of Japan whereas in the olden days, maybe a few select series per season could be translated so they had to be more picky.

It’s not that anime is worse overall now. There’s just so much being made at once that it’s harder to find the good stuff. It’s worth trying, though! Some of the best shows I’ve ever seen have been in the last five years!

Artist Alleys should reserve a certain percentage of their tables for local artists or at least prioritize them during the portfolio review process.
