But also, the _reason_ Mamdani could do this is because of the skill set someone like him has to learn being part of our communities. He is able to *perform* the "model minority" role, but is not interested in, and not aspiring to, whiteness. This combination is a hack that breaks media & power.

Eric, your work is absolutely part of the reason that my kids get the room to explore what being autistic means for themselves, which starts with sharing traits and finding community with other autistic and neurodivergent folks. You helped set the groundwork for it not being a deficit-based convo

There’s no right answer! And that sucks! And it’s awesome! I try to share experiences (or what I learned) instead of advice for raising an infant… just in case there’s a helpful nugget.

It’s all about the relationship with another human, right? Sometimes hearing how other people did a thing can give you a new tool or strategy to try! Maybe it works in this relationship, maybe it was actually a little bit shitty and bad, and you model how to repair and rebuild trust!

Often times, yes. I came to the conclusion that sleep really is so different for every family (bed time, wake times, where, how long, alone, sharing beds, what’s needed to fall asleep, etc.)

So I try to ask, is what we’re doing working for everyone?
