The sheer rage-inducing gall of the people who made this happen calling themselves "pro life".
My dear friend’s niece, who in October developed sepsis when a Georgia hospital refused her a D&C after a miscarriage, will be taken off life support tomorrow.

I don’t know the names of the countless others who have suffered and will suffered because of anti-abortion laws.

But her name was Haley.

So in Trump’s view, Putin can be trusted not to ignore any deal they sign because a minerals deal would give the US an economic interest in Ukraine.
So him giving security guarantees should be no big deal, surely?

Am I alone in loving Christmas but finding New Year a bit blah? Maybe my body finds the cumulative excesses have reached saturation point. Do enjoy yourselves despite this Grinch.

Calling Sadiq Khan's knighthood a "reward for failure" is a bit rich from the party that knighted Gavin Williamson and gave Chris Grayling a peerage.

During Covid lockdown, if you had family round on Christmas Day the police could force their way into your home and make them return to their own homes.
Does anybody know if this service is still available and, if so, do you have to book it?

Saints FC. Everyone agrees that we play some nice stuff. It would be nice if they won the occasional game of Association Football. Or at least didn’t hand out opponents the game on a platter!

I don’t know whom to credit for this, which I stole many years ago. Still makes me chuckle.

Watching the Secrets of Dumbledore on Netflix. When first released, I thought the analogy with the Third Reich were obvious. Now, I can see the Trumpian overtones even more clearly.

So it seems that winter pansies look really lovely for about 2 days, after which they become rather pricey deer food. Roe deer are cute but rather limit one’s choice of planting.

What’s up, Bluesky asks? The Daily Mail for one, up to its usual tricks. A gamble, they say? Well Germany have been way more successful than England in International football, and all their teams had German managers. And at least he’s not a NonDom like some Newspaper proprietors I could mention.

Off to play badminton in a bit. I wish I reacted more quickly to the shuttle. I rather suspect that I could but for some reason, don’t. On your toes, Lad, on your toes.

Slow handclap to BBC News for giving the lone heckler loads of publicity on the TV. Not just a brief shot but extended footage of him being dragged from the hall, at the end of the report on the Chancellor’s speech.

Well that’s it. The dark side kept logging me off, demanding other details and generally filling my feed with knuckle draggers, ads every third post and despite making clear my disinterest, gambling/crypto disinformation. So I deleted the App.
Seems pretty final. “Nothing but Blueskies from now on”

Humour that’s Haydn in plain sight.
I’m not a fan of his music but this is unnecessary.

So far on this site, I have yet to see the expression, “well that escalated quickly”.
I think that’s a plus point although I can still be amused by the “It’s a nice day” “Bastard!” exchanges, so swings and roundabouts.
