In the UK energy costs are everything, when energy costs so much, it sucks the life blood out of businesses and individuals, the only way I can see that we'll be able to bring prices down long term is by becoming more energy self sufficient.

Apparently the cut to the ISA allowance for the under 65s, was to encourage young people to invest.... I don't know what the fuck money they think we have they've bled us fucking dry already.

No one really talks about the corrosive effect of enshitification on society. The quality of even the most basic item is poor and getting poorer.

Politicians opinions about the British public are just fucking horrific.

Stammer and Reeves are just plain bad at politics. I would much rather they raised income tax, than cut thresholds. Which will inevitably hurt people who are just about getting by more

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

This is a right wing attack on the BBC, this is an attack on our right to unbiased unpoliticized news. Another step in the fascist playbook

Why is productivity so low in the UK. I'm nearly 50, my entire working life has been one crisis after another, dot com bubble, 2008 financial crash, austerity, Brexit... We're all fucking exhausted, trying to make it through the day, the week, the year. Trying to pay bills, trying to raise our kids

Many kids are drowning at school, SEND kids especially. This will not help

www.theguardian.com/politics/202... what is this obsession with testing kids, yes kids need to be able to read but adding extra tests will just take away teaching time. Also more stress, more anxiety for ment kids already at breaking point.

I think about this in how the guy who ran MySpace sold his company and then traveled the world doing photography, while the guy who runs Facebook never let it go and has gone out of his way to destroy democracy in order to gain more power.
The desperate need to accumulate more and more at the cost of everyone else’s wellbeing should be classified as a mental disorder, and I will absolutely die on this hill.
Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

There is zero chance West Ham are not getting relegated.

Our centre backs would struggle to get into most championship sides let alone premier league ones. Our midfield has been non-existent since Rice left and aside from Bowen no one can score a goal.
October 21, 2025 at 8:37 AM
Everything that the ownership at West Ham have been doing for the past 10 - 15 years is coming home to roost this season. The stadium is one thing, but it would be less of an issue if they'd not put together one of the worst squads in the clubs history.
October 21, 2025 at 8:35 AM
Niche complaint, but it's 2025, we really should have scrapped grammar schools by now! Unless you live in an area that still has them you can't understand the damage they do.
