Gentle hint: that press release was very hard to read. Jamming all the names of everyone and all the orgs involved up front might satisfy their wish to have their names in print but it’ll turn off the majority of readers, who want to learn about sharks, not get lost in an alphabet soup of acronyms.

I can't explain how Murakami does it, but I find many of his books transformative, as in I start the book as one person and by the end I am another, but I have no idea how I got from there to here. Extraordinary. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is a good place to start.
